PS3 Line-Up Drops Big in September

Semi-official Sony blog sets release month for Heavenly Sword, Lair, Killzone, Rachet & Clank, Warhawk; mentions PS3 editions of BioShock and Wipeout.

With PS3’s now available on a global scale, owners and buyers alike may still be looking to justify that sexy piece of hardware that reaches well into your savings account. With a launch line-up that was well… short lived, gamers are looking for an end to the software drought that’s been haunting the PS3. Although there has been the limited supply of games and demos finding their way to the PSN and the recent release of Motor Storm, not too many of us are as thrilled as Phil Harrison to say the least. So it would seem we have to remain gazing wishfully at the promised future of PS3 delights. However, it would seem that this future is not as far off as many have assumed. According to Sony’s semi-official blog three speech, the release dates of a handful of well needed and heavily anticipated PlayStation 3 games have been narrowed down to September.

“September is shaping up to be a big month for PS3 games. That’s when we’ll see Heavenly Sword, the ultra-responsive arena-based swordfighting game, innovative dragon-fighting game Lair and the air, foot and vehicle combat game WarHawk, which is still looking likely to be released over the PlayStation Network rather than in the shops. First-person shooter Killzone, too, should surface in September, as well as the first PS3 version of Ratchet & Clank.”

The post goes further to mention some highly expected future releases like Sing Star, MGS 4, Final Fantasy XIII, and GT5 among many others. There were also some eyebrow-raising claims of an HD Wipeout slated to release as well as BioShock for the PS3. A Sony Representative was quick to point out that Three Speech is a semi-official blog handled by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and said the only game on the list with a confirmed US date is Lair, which should arrive in July.
